An 18-year old Egyptian woman identified as MM was shot dead by her brother-in-law after she resisted being raped by him in Atfaih village in Egypt reported the daily Al Youm Al Sabea’a. MM refused to have a sexual relationship with her brother in-law and spat on his face. She also threatened to inform the family. The police interrogated the victim’s husband who said that he had found MM in a pool of blood upon arrival from work. Further investigation revealed the victim’s brother in-law as the culprit who admitted to the crime. The accused confessed he visited his brother’s wife daily in his absence. He further tried to intimidate the victim who in defense spat on his face and threatened to inform the family. This in turn frightened him which led him to him shooting her.
