The Chief Prosecutor of Muharraq Governorate, Abdullah Al-Dosary, said that the Public Prosecution assumed investigation into the complaint lodged from the Police Directorate of Bahrain International Airport..
The complaint requested the arrest and summoning of a female suspect arrested upon return from abroad.
In the process of routine inspection and when asked to hand over her mobile phone, she abstained to comply with the instructions from the competent judicial control woman-police officers.
Even she attacked a lieutenant and another policewoman whose injuries have been described in the medical reports attached to the complaint.
Al-Dosary said that the Prosecution charged the suspect of assault and battery against on-duty public employees during their performance of official duty.
She was informed about the charges in the presence of her lawyer and she was also informed about the two medical reports and witnesses' testimonies attached with the complaint.
An arrest warrant was duly obtained and she was ordered to be incarcerated for seven days for investigation. Eyewitnesses and the two victims have been summoned to hear their testimonies in order to refer the case to the criminal court.
