A woman died after floods swept her away right in front of her house in Wadi Ar-Rayan along a distance of more than three km, the Civil Defence Department (CDD) reported on Monday.
Rescue teams retrieved the woman's body and transferred it to Abu Obaida Hospital in Northern Jordan valley, where doctors confirmed her dead upon arrival.
The civil defense rescuers are still at the scene, checking damaged houses and attempting to drain the rainwater using special equipment and water suction pumps.
They also called on citizens to drain rainwater that had accumulated in the residential areas and move to safer areas, especially those who live in mobile home tents. They also called upon them and to stay away from streams and valleys because of the bad weather conditions.
