The French government on Thursday condemned the assassination a day earlier of Somali female Deputy and artist Sado Ali Warsame, who was murdered in the capital, Mogadishu.
A French statement praised the murdered woman as "courageous" and expressed condolences to her family.
"There can be no impunity for this crime for which those responsible should be brought before the courts," the French statement said.
Warsame is the latest of several members of the Somali Assembly to be assassinated by suspected radicals linked with the extremist Islamist "Al-Shebab" group.
"France stands beside the Federal Government of Somalia in its fight against terrorism and its stabilisation efforts for the country," the Foreign Ministry here said.
