The Moroccan Interior Ministry announced today that a Frenchwoman and a Moroccan man have been arrested for plotting to join the Daesh organization.
In a statement, carried by Moroccan News Agency (MAP), the Ministry said the arrested couple have been plotting to perpetrate a terrorist act either in Morocco or abroad after pledging allegiance to the so-called Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.
The statement added that the arrest was a precautionary measure necessitated by the Moroccan security authorities' fears of the acts of terrorism which target the kingdom and its partners' interests.
