Member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Hanan Ashrawy met with Japanese Ambassador to the Palestinian Authority (PA) Takeshi Okubo Tuesday to discuss the latest Palestinian developments in light of the repeated Israeli violations of international and humanitarian laws.
Ashrawy urged the world community to act to get Israel to stop those violations and dangerous escalation in Al Quds.
The meeting also tackled the deteriorating conditions in the Gaza Strip, with Ashrawy pressing for action to lift the siege imposed on the enclave.
She also stressed the urgent need to achieve reconciliation and end Palestinian division for elections to be quickly conducted.
They also discussed future Palestinian political and diplomatic moves.
Ashrawy voiced appreciation for Japan's stances in support of the Palestinian cause and its development projects in Al Quds.
She also praised Japan's willingness to send observers to monitor the Palestinian elections, when a date is set.
Ashrawy stressed the need to boost bilateral cooperation with Tokyo.
