State Minister for Housing Hala Yousef and Justice Minister Ahmed el Zend along with Head of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) Abu Baker el Gendy held a meeting to discuss means of overcoming the phenomenon of early marriage and preventing related legal loopholes.
Yousef said that her Ministry sought to address citizens by raising their awareness about the disadvantages of early marriage on women, the family and the whole society, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Wednesday.
Curbing early marriage can overcome population increase, the minister underlined, adding that this phenomenon prevents girls from continuing their education and thus obtaining a good job opportunity.
