Cultural Advisor for Indonesian President Meutia Hatta hailed the progress of the Iranian women under the Islamic Republic system. In a meeting with a delegation headed by the Iranian MP Laleh Eftekhari on Wednesday, she called for expansion of cooperation between the two countries and exchange of experiences in the women-related issues. She reiterated that the two Muslim countries shared identical views regarding the role of women in the Islamic world. Eftekhari outlined the achievements of the Iranian women and said the laws and regulations now prevalent in international organizations and women organizations are inefficient and even sometimes destructive because they are not compatible with religious values of Islamic societies.
