The first International Women’s Congress “For Culture of Peace” themed “Words to Women” opened Tuesday at Oran’s Mohamed Benahmed Convention Centre (CCO), in the presence of Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic Mohamed Ali Boughazi and Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs Mounia Meslem.
This four-day meeting is organized by the Foundation for the Mediterranean development “Djanet El Arif,” based in Mostaganem and chaired by Cheikh Khaled Bentounes, and a foreign partner, namely the non-governmental organization “International Organization Soufie Alawiya” (AISA).
According to organizers, this congress, which brings together women from around the world, plans to open the religious debate on “the image of Islam in society, which is tarnished by this violence committed in the name of Islam.”
The works of this first edition of the congress will focus on five axes.
