'Green offices' is the title of the national campaign launched by the Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS) to celebrate Earth Day, starting today and expanding for the year ahead. "All government and private entities are invited to take part in the campaign, which coincides with global celebrations of 'green cities'," head of programs and activities at KEPS Jinan Bahzad told KUNA. She added that the campaign aims at raising "green' awareness through the strategy of localizing such global idea and making it applicable throughout Kuwaiti offices. "The society will assign volunteering trainers to work on the campaign and make sure all environmental standards are met before coming forward with an assessment," she noted. Other objectives of the campaign include placing strategies for sustainable environmental development for those offices in order to save energy and rationalize consumption, as well as presenting plans for office waste management and safest means of disposal, she pointed out.
