Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD), Head of the U.A.E. Committee for the Coordination of Foreign Humanitarian Aid, has commended the U.A.E. humanitarian record chalked out by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
She added that the active role played by U.A.E. in all the humanitarian and development fields worldwide earned the country a prestigious global status.
Sheikha Lubna underscored that the MICAD, donor agencies and strategic partners of the Ministry look forward to the humanitarian philosophy and spirit of giving demonstrated by the U.A.E. leadership.
The U.A.E. minister was speaking at the inauguration of second Ramadan Gathering of the Strategic Partners of MICAD, held in Abu Dhabi in the presence of directors and representatives of the U.A.E. donor agencies, humanitarian and charity bodies.
Sheikha Lubna said the MICAD has been stepping up joint and fruitful cooperation efforts with the strategic partners to build a constructive partnership model to sustain the U.A.E. humanitarian method and record as well.
She noted that the dream has become true as the U.A.E. was ranked world's top donor in terms of humanitarian and development aid compared to its national income in accordance to the initial data of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC).
Sheikha Lubna said that these days the U.A.E. observes the legacy of international humanitarian figure, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the U.A.E.. She seized the opportunity to greet the U.A.E. President and Vice President, Supreme Council Members, Their Highnesses Rulers of Emirates, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, on the occasion.
She also thanked H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, for their follow up of the humanitarian efforts.
