A man claiming he has financial problems went into a banker’s home in Dubai with his brother disguised as a woman and filmed the housewife without her knowledge. He later demanded Dh3.7 million or he would publicize the film. Guards at the building had admitted the two at night, thinking they were known visitors. Inside the apartment, the man asked the banker’s wife to help him but she told him to contact her husband’s secretary at the bank and she would help. A few days later, the man called the secretary and she appeared willing to help but he demanded Dh3.67 million and told her about the film showing the banker’s wife inside her flat in various positions. The secretary did not believe and asked him to prove it. The man went to the bank and handed her a flash memory containing the film without realizing he was filmed by the bank’s security cameras. The secretary then gave the flash memory to the banker’s wife. She handed it to her husband who called the police. The man and his brother stood trial on Thursday on charges of extortion and encroaching on private life.
