Kuwaiti computer engineer Manar Al-Hashash has been chosen to be a member of the judging panel at the World Summit Award Mobile (WSA-mobile), which is currently being held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
"It is an honor to be a team member in this global initiative and surrounded by experts and elites in the field of information and communication technology," Al-Hashash told KUNA on Tuesday.
In addition to being a member in WSA board of directors, Al-Hashash is also a member of High-Level Panel of Advisers of Gaid - United Nations.
The three-day event is hosted by Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre. Almost 500 national nominations from around 178 UN member states to take part in this grand event have been received.
WSA-mobile is a global initiative to select and promote the world's best in mobile content and innovative applications within the framework of, and in cooperation with, the United Nations' World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
It emphasizes cultural diversity and identity, the creation of varied information content and the digitalization of educational, scientific and cultural heritage.
It aims to make the benefits of the new Information Society accessible and meaningful for all humanity, and in particular, to raise public awareness and give deserved public recognition to the highest quality e-Content, produced all over the world.
