The Arab Women Foundation has announced that Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Women's Union, has won the 6th Arab Woman Award 2016 in recognition of her role played to implement the vision of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
Her Highness' vision is aimed at developing organisational frameworks of women work in the UAE, which translates the confidence in the capabilities of Emirati women to participate in building their homeland as well as occupying leadership posts.
Dr. Suad Suleiman, Secretary General of the Award said that the honour reflects appreciation of her efforts to serve women's cause to promote the role of females in the UAE and the Arab countries over more than two decades. She added that Al Suwaidi has been working and contributed effectively to the implementation of the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in this regard.
Dr. Suleiman also said that the jury praised Noura Al Suwaidi's work and contributions to develop the Arab work and establish the Arab Women Organisation.
