Kuwait's Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah Tuesday evening praised as "well-calculated" the decision recently made by Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to grant Saudi women political rights."This generous move came as no surprise from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques," Sheikh Jaber said, congratulating the Saudi women on the decision.He made the press remarks during a reception hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Kuwait to mark the national day of the kingdom.Sheikh Jaber congratulated the Saudi people and government on the national day, wishing sisterly Saudi Arabia more progress and prosperity under King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abduaziz Al Saud.Meanwhile, Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Fayez said commended "the close historical ties" between his country and the State of Kuwait.He said: "The large number of Kuwaiti dignitaries who kindly accepted the invitation to attend the reception made us feel that we all live in one country. The national day of Saudi Arabia is a national day for Kuwait and vice versa." Commenting on the recent royal decision, he said: "It came in recognition of role the Saudi women can play in socio-economic development."
