Sabrina Allen was just five-years-old when she was abducted from her father, Greg, 12 years ago.
Tuesday, FBI, U.S. Marshals and the Mexican Federal Authority conducted an operation outside of Mexico City, rescuing the girl.
A Mexican Federal Authority Police Officer suffered a minor injury during the rescue.
At a news conference Wednesday, Sabrina's father said that the last weeks leading to the rescue were "quite the roller coaster."
"Are they going to get away again? They've gotten away so many times," he said. "But they didn't get away, we're here and now we're really focused on what needs to come next."
In 2002, Sabrina was abducted by her non-custodial mother, Dara Llorens.
Allen said the girl had not been going to school, and rarely left the apartment where she lived with her mother.
Sabrina is being checked out at a hospital and will soon be reunited with her father.
Llorens was is in the Travis Co., Texas jail on $300,000 bond.
