The Supreme Council for Women -(SCW)- Secretary-general Hala Al-Ansari convened a meeting with members of the Coordinative Committee for Supporting Women's Needs in Development comprising a number of Shura Council members and members from the House of Representatives during which she emphasized the significant role of members of the legislative authority in seeking to provide legislative frame necessary to assimilate women's needs through available instruments and mechanisms in order to achieve the principle of equal opportunity nationwide. Al-Ansari praised the output of the workshop on (availing from legislative and supervisory tools in assimilating women's needs). The meeting concluded with a series of recommendations including the laying down of a practical implementation plan for the committee and holding working meetings with members of the legislative authority in order to follow up outputs of the said workshop as well as training for members of the Legal Affairs Department in the Supreme Council for Women to act as a supportive team for the Coordinative Committee's work. HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, had earlier issued a resolution regarding the formation of a Coordinative Committee between the Supreme Council for Women and the Legislative Authroity aimed at boosting the assimulation of women's needs in the government action plan and seek to support the inclinations and oupts of the National Committee's work and their application through availabe mechanisms and tools. The resolution ordered the formation of the Coordinative Committee presided over by the Supreme Council for Women's secretary-general Ms. Hala Al-Ansari and membership of the following Shura Council members: Attorney Dalal Jasim Al-Zayed, Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulsalam, Mr. Mohammed Saif Al-Mussallam, Ms. Nancy Elie Khadouri and also membershp of the following MPs: Ms. Latifa Mohammed Al-Qa'ood, Dr. Sumaya Abdulrahman Al-Jowder, Mr. Ahmed Ebraim Al-Mulla, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Sa'ati and Mr. Salman Hamad Al-Shaikh. The coordinative committee was created last October in compliance with the recommendaitons of the first meeting of the National Committee - for Follow-up and Implementation of the Bahraini Model for Assimilation of Women's Needs into the Government Action Program - presided over by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
