The Secretary General of the Sudanese Women General Union (SWGU),Dr. Iqbal Ja'afar Al-Hussein, has appreciated the pioneers of women work in Sudan and their efforts in laying down the pillars of peace in the country.
In her address Sunday at a celebration on the occasion the World Peace Day which was organized by the Secretariat General of Peace of the (SWGU) at the Centre for the Sudanese Women Activities (MAMA) under the motto of (My Hand on Your Hand for Peace), Dr. Iqbal affirmed that the woman is the first victim of wars and armed conflicts, and also the first beneficiary of the peace process, praising the Union's efforts in launching initiatives and supporting the peace projects that bolster the social fabric and cohesion.
She directed a call on the gun-holders to get engaged in the national dialogue process which currently being witnessed in country.
