Deputy Chairperson of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work (AUVW) and Chairwoman of the Emirates Volunteers Association Sahar Ahmed Al Obed has extended sincere thanks to Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa and the Good Word Society for their pioneering initiative to launch an award carrying his name, in cooperation with the AUVW.
She praised the award as an initiative with deep positive impacts aiming to activate voluntary work across the Arab World.
She said the Shaikh Isa bin Ali Award for Voluntary Work provides a venue for Arab volunteers to meet and exchange expertise on the Arab Voluntary Work Day.
She added that the annual ceremony of the award would be an opportunity to pay tribute to volunteers and honour them for their prominent role and tireless efforts.
Al-Obed commended the efforts of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work to promote voluntary work across Arab countries, calling for the need to support the union and facilitate the work of Arab voluntary work associations and centres.
