In an effort to involve the youth in development initiatives, Shamma bint Sohail Faris AlMazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, launched the title and logo of "Oil Ambassadors" under the Youth Councils' initiative in local and federal areas.
During a meeting with the members of the UAE Youth Council for Oil in Dubai, she said such councils were set up in different areas following the directives of the UAE’s leadership that believes in the importance of the youth’s participation in various sectors of the economy.
She said it was important to listen to the youth and elicit ideas and suggestions from them if the country is to benefit from their talents, energies and skills. Equipped with ideas and skills, the youth can serve their organizations better and play a key role in the State’s quest for development.
She approved the logo of the UAE Youth Council for Oil and praised the efforts of the UAE’s youth. She expressed her faith that as Oil Ambassadors, they will work towards raising awareness about energy and energy resources at the local and international levels, and how energy plays a vital role in achieving sustainable development.
She added that the youth will help raise awareness about the oil sector not only among the younger sections but the entire community.
She underlined that the youth today shoulder a huge responsibility since they represent the hope that the UAE’s leadership reposes in them.
