Cambodian authorities said they charged a 23-year-old woman with kidnapping and murder in the death of a woman who recently won a modeling contest. Sun Kimheng of Phnom Penh was jailed during the weekend after allegedly confessing to the charges, the Phnom Penh Post reported Monday. Three other people were also arrested in the case. The victim, Lim Srey Pich, 19, disappeared Tuesday after meeting at a shopping center with a woman she had met on Facebook, police said. Garment workers found her body the next day in a ditch about 20 miles from Phnom Penh. She had been strangled. Police said Kimheng was arrested after she sent a text to the victim's family demanding a $50,000 ransom. The victim apparently was killed before a ransom could be sent, police said. Pich was the daughter of a well-known car dealer in Phnom Penh. Last month, she won a beauty contest sponsored by a drink manufacturer.
