An IT programmmer was fined S$2,500 for spraying insecticide at her neighbour's one-year-old son. Kong Yong Meow pleaded guilty on Tuesday to rashly endangering the life of the toddler on 25 June 2011. The court heard that the 59-year-old woman was upset with the noise the toddler and his brother were making while playing outside her flat on the fifth floor of her block in Bedok. Kong took a can of 'Shieldtox' insecticide and sprayed at them from her flat. This caused hurt and discomfort to the toddler's eyes. The court also heard that he vomitted twice. Kong was caught red-handed by the children's mother, who later made a police report. She could have been jailed up to six months and fined S$2,500.
