Woman held for cutting off husband's penis

A Southern California woman has been arrested on suspicion of drugging her husband and cutting off his penis with a 10-inch kitchen knife, police said. Catherine Kieu Becker of Garden Grove, Calif. was taken into custody Tuesday after police arrived at her home and found her husband tied to a bed and bleeding, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday. Becker, 46, told police she had drugged her husband's dinner to make him sleepy, tied him to a bed and then cut off his penis which she tossed into the garbage disposal. Her 51-year-old husband, whose name was not released, was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery. Lt. Jeff Nightengale said Becker could face life in prison if convicted. She is being held on $1 million bail. "You're not just depriving a person of a member or portion of their body or disfiguring them, you're doing something that's so egregious we're not sure what's going to happen," Nightengale said.
