Egypt's Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Waly has chosen a young Egyptian woman from the governorate of Qalyoubiya to assume her duties for a single day as part of the country's celebrations to mark the United Nations’ International Day of the Girl.
The minister selected Mai Saleh, a fine arts graduate, during the Egyptian Girls Forum – organised by the ministry to mark the day, which falls on Thursday.
The minister received the young lady at her office in Cairo and introduced her to issues she is dealing with and tasks she handles on a daily basis.
