Police, the FBI, volunteers and family members say they've been searching for a 22-year-old Lafayette, La., woman missing since early Saturday. Police said Michaela "Mickey" Shunick, a senior anthropology major at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, was last seen riding a bike home from a friend's house about 2 a.m. Saturday, ABC News reported. Family members held a candlelight vigil Tuesday night, announced a reward of $20,000 for tips leading to Shunick's whereabouts and handed out flyers. Her sister Charlene told ABC affiliate KATC-TV, Lafayette, she's hopeful Shunick will be found. "I think she's OK. I think she's alive. I think she's out there," Charlene said. Shunick's parents said she had always carried Mace while riding her bike to protect herself. Police said they're searching a wide area. "It's a very wide scope for us to look at," Cpl. Paul Mouton said. "We're canvassing and checking a lot of different businesses for video evidence." Shunick stands about 5-foot-1 and weighs 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a multi-colored striped pastel shirt, jeans and gray shoes. Members of her family say they can't think of any reason anyone would want to harm her.
