David Alan Gore, a man who admitted to raping and murdering six women in the early 1980s, has been executed in Florida. Gore was arrested after he and his cousin Fred Waterfield kidnapped and murdered 17-year old Lynn Elliott in 1983. Gore confessed to raping and murdering five other women in and around Indian River County, 150 miles north of Miami. He was sentenced to death in 1984 for the murder of Elliott, though that sentence was later overturned. He was re-sentenced in 1992, while Waterfield got two life sentences. Gore became the fourth person to be executed since Governor Rick Scott took office in January 2011.
