Bank on Alia Bhatt to be the role model for the younger generation.
The actress, along with her mother Soni Razdan, is bearing the entire medical expense of the ailing filmmaker Kalpana Lajmi's dialysis.
A story on Bollywood Hungama quotes a source saying, "She would be very upset and embarrassed to know this has been let out. But it's very important to let Kalpana's well-wishers know that only one 24-year old girl is shouldering her medical bills. It's about time others came forward to do their bit."
The story also mentioned that Kalpana Lajmi's medical bill comes to around Rs. 2.5 lakh every week. Alia Bhatt pays it once her mother alerts her every week.
