The Hebrew newspaper Maariv has reported that the daughter of Major Saad Haddad, founder of what was known as the South Lebanese Army (SLA) who fought alongside Israel against Palestinians and Lebanese for many years spanning from 1978 until his death in 1984, has graduated from Israel's Technion Institute of Technology with a masters degree in missiles technology. The newspaper added that Arzah Haddad, 31 years, moved to Israel after her high school exams, to live in Haifa city where she enrolled at the Technion Institute and now works in Tel Aviv. She graduated on Tuesday from Technion earning a masters degree for her work on a project to produce an engine for surface-to-air missiles which can propel the rocket to a distance of 1000 km. Haddad expressed her pride, according to Maariv which reported her full story, in inventing a new engine that will enable Israeli aircraft to destroy their targets from a distance of hundreds of kilometres.
