Sudanese first lady Fatima Khaled on Sunday attended a Ministry of Guidance and Social Development party in Khartoum that was held in an orphanage. A Qatari women's delegation headed by Sheikha Om Mohamed Bin Hamad Al-Thani and Dr Wadha Al-Swidy, a human rights activist, also attended the event. The delegation had visited a number of old-age homes in the Sudanese capital and donated $ 10 million to the orphanage. The orphanage houses 500 children aged from a few months to five years. The children are eventually moved to another house in Khartoum where girls are separated from boys. The delegation has said they are ready to provide further support for the needy in society.
