Cairo - Akram Ali

Khariat al-Shater, one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, has been accused of exploiting his ties to private schools in Cairo,  in order to promote the Muslim brotherhood candidate, Mohammed Morsi. Janadan School, which is owned by Shater, conducted a presidential election simulation after an announcement was published in the school’s website, inviting all students to vote for Morsi and promote his campaign. The school is managed by Shater's wife, Azza, who with the help of their daughters, made a microcosm of the election, promoting Morsi. At the start of the voting process, the students found out that the voting application included 12 candidates, after Abdel Moneim Abul Fotouh name was deleted from the list. The result was a sweeping victory for Mohamed Morsi, after extensive publicity and a simplification of the Renaissance project to suit the minds of young students. Some parents, who did not want to give their names to Arabstoday, stated that the school director Azza el-Shater, announced the result of the elections with the victory of Morsi. They said that Azza Shater then invited them to" follow their children and vote for the candidate of the Muslim brotherhood, as the parents have a duty to follow the candidate that was chosen by their children, and should consider it their duty". The sources added: "We were surprised to find the involvement of schools and students in politics, to support the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood, even as it was extended to invite parents to vote for their candidate without respect to the educational process." Parents explained that they will make a complaint to the ministry of education, against the violation of politics with education, which they say violates the law.
