Minister of Education of the outgoing government in Gaza, Dr. Osama al-Mazini in Tunis Gaza – Mohammed Habib Minister of Education of the outgoing government in Gaza, Dr. Osama al-Mazini, stated that he looked into several educational issues needed by the Gaza Strip during his abroad tour with PM Ismail Haniyeh, confirming that he signed a number of partnership agreements with his Tunisian counterpart Dr. Moncef Ben Salem, in Tunis, aiming to promote the educational field in Gaza.
Mazini said, in a press statement copied to ‘Arabstoday’, that he met with Moncef Ben Salem and his consultant Mohamed Ghariba in the offices of the Tunisian Ministry of High Education and Scientific Research. The statement said that they conducted an important tour to several Educational and Scientific facilities, including the National Institution for Physical and Chemical Research and Analysis, the National Center of Science and Nuclear Technology, and the Scientific Technology City among other facilities. The purpose of the tour was to look into the activities of these centers and their various scientific and educational research and experiments.
Mazini stated that he signed several partnership agreements during the tour, including scholarships and grants agreements, and an agreement to implement mutual visits between the Scientific Research Council in Gaza and the National Institution for Physical and Chemical Research and Analysis in Tunisia, within the framework of exchanging experience.
The Palestinian Minister of Education described his visit to Tunisia as “successful on all political and educational levels.”
He added that an important agreement is expected to be signed soon, on running research on nuclear radiation in Gaza, at the Tunisian National Center of Science and Nuclear Technology, after the Tunisian center examines Gaza’s need to conduct such significant research following the last Israeli war, in which IDF used banned weapons against civilians, which led to deaths, illnesses, and serious environmental pollution.
Mazini pointed out that another agreement was signed on recruiting distinctive students and engineers from Gaza to upgrade their experience in the field of communication and technology, in addition to conducting visits in the future for students in Palestinian schools to the Tunisian Scientific City.
