Indonesia and Poland kicked off on Tuesday bilateral cooperation in green technology, involving environment ministries of both countries, the private sector and regional governments of Indonesia. The cooperation was initiated during the visit by a Polish Green Technology delegation to the office of Environment Minister Balthazar Kambuaya. "I expect that within the next three months, results of the mission can be transformed into real action plans for future cooperation of both countries. I hope this cooperation would help regional governments in managing rivers in their respective regions," the minister said when addressing the Polish delegation. The minister added that the visit by the Polish delegation is highly expected to help Indonesia in designing a Green Technology Road Map, which is now being jointly discussed by officials of the ministry, Indonesian Industry and Commerce Chamber (KADIN) and the state technology development bureau). The minister said that the Green Technology Road Map is a guideline for the environmental-friendly drive that involves investments both by state-run firms and private enterprises in the country. Besides launching the landmark cooperation with Indonesian Environment Ministry, the Polish Green Technology delegation, led by Secretary of State for Water Resources Stanislaw Gawlowski, was also scheduled to visit regional governments in the capital city of Jakarta, South Sumatra and South Kalimantan. During its visit to Indonesia's regional governments, scheduled to last until March 11, the Polish delegation is expected to share Polish green technology in river, provincial and domestic wastes management.
