Rostekhnologii Corporation has signed an agreement on strategic cooperation with China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. The document was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G20 summit in St. Petersburg on Thursday. At the meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Thursday, Putin said, “We maintain permanent contacts and our colleagues as well.” “I’m very glad to see you again,” Putin told the Chinese President. “We’ll also meet within BRICS,” the Russian President added. Russia and China have succeeded in achieved serious progress in the last three months by implementing 50 projects in different fields, Xi Jinping said. “I’ve calculated that as of today the parties have reached a serious breakthrough by implementing about 50 projects in different fields,” the Chinese President said. He wished the G20 summit be successful. Russia’s presidency proves the country’s role and its status as a great power, Xi said. The Chinese President said he was very glad to meet his Russian counterpart in his native city. Xi named Putin as “my very good friend”. Chinese President Xi Jinping offered condolences over a devastating flood in the Russian Far East. Opening a meeting with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the ongoing G20 summit, the Chinese leader noted that this flood became the most disastrous one over the last 20 years. “I would like to offer my condolences to you,” Xi Jinping said, noting China was also damaged strongly in this natural disaster. “During our joint struggle against the floods our peoples, our governments are maintaining the closest contacts, this showed once again fraternal feelings of our peoples, who live in the border regions of the countries,” the Chinese leader said with confidence. Through Russian-Chinese efforts “we will certainly win a final victory over the natural disaster,” Xi Jinping added. The meeting was attended by Russian presidential chief of staff Sergei Ivanov, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin and Gazprom head Aleksei Miller, as well presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
