Minister of Communication Hamid Grine launched Tuesday the Multimedia Exchange Network Over Satellite (MENOS) in Illizi (1850-km southeast of Algiers).
The set-up of this modern technological communication support is part of Algeria's strategy aiming to promote communication activities in Algeria's far south, the minister said while inspecting the local radio station of Illizi, where MENOS equipment have been installed.
Illizi is thus the first province to benefit from such a technology, to be subsequently extended to the other Algerian provinces, added Grine, who is on a working and inspection visit to Illizi.
MENOS, one of the most advanced systems in satellite communication technologies, offers various advantages, including high-quality radio and TV exchanges.
