His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa,Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Ministerreceived the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Corporation and President of Microsoft Middle East & Africa, Ali Faramawy at Gudaibiya Palace today.His Royal Highness emphasised the role of innovative technology in furtherdeveloping the Kingdom’s economy, and highlighted the importance of the ICT sector in strengthening business, trade and commerce in the region as a whole.His Royal Highness stressed the need to maintain cooperation between leading ICTcompanies and all government entities in order to help increase efficiency and sharethe industry’s latest innovative products and services.His Royal Highness added that developing Bahrain’s ICT sector will furtherencourage innovation and entrepreneurship among the Kingdom’s dynamic techcommunity.During the meeting, Mr. Faramawy expressed his gratitude for the opportunity tomeet with His Royal Highness and noted Bahrain’s advanced technologyinfrastructure and strong regional connectivity. He highlighted Microsoft’s keeninterest to further cooperation with Bahraini companies and governmentinstitutions.His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and the Minister ofTransport, Kamal bin Ahmed also attended the meeting.
