Misr el Kheir Foundation, a local NGO, will sign an agreement on April 19 with China's Beijing Institute of Technology and Suez Canal University to establish a telecommunications institute in Egypt.
The idea behind the institute is to boost Egyptian technical education, and to benefit from the Chinese experience in the telecommunications field, said Head of the Higher Education Department at the foundation Hanan Rehani.
She added that the new institute aims to link the educational process to the market needs.
Under the deal, 25 students will be granted scholarships at the Beijing Institute of Technology every year.
