Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has won the U.A.E. Ideas Award 2014 for promoting e-Government at the U.A.E. Ideas Conference in Dubai.
A team of Generation division received the award for its One-Way Data Device that was custom-designed for DEWA.
The device ensures safe transmission of data from power stations to a shared platform. This builds a knowledge base for decision-makers, enabling them to access data through smart devices.
Nasser Lootah, Executive Vice President of Generation at DEWA presented the award to Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA. He also praised the winning team members and commended their efforts to enhance the operational and industry competitiveness of DEWA.
The team members who were honoured for developing the One-Way Data Device included Nasser Lootah, Tayeb Al-Khaja, Vice President of Plant 2, Mohammed Zulfiquer, Senior Manager of Instrument and Control (Plant2), Khaled Kuley, Deputy Manager of Instrument and Control Maintenance, (Plant2), Mohammed Islam, Senior Engineer - Instrument & Control (Plant1), and Mohammed Faisal, Senior Technical Assistant.
DEWA sponsored the third Ideas Emirates Award, showing its commitment to supporting events and activities that recognise creative ideas that contribute to further developing the business environment of the U.A.E..
