Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi underlined Iran's willingness to expand communications and information technology relations with Qatar.
"We are willing to expand bilateral ties with Qatar and we will take part in an upcoming communications exhibition that will be held in Qatar in 2014," Vazezi told reporters after meeting his Qatari counterpart in Tehran on Saturday.
Vaezi pointed to his meeting with his Qatari counterpart, and said, "We discussed further expansion of mutual cooperation during the meeting."
He noted that during the meeting the two sides also decided to set up a joint technology commission in order to enable the two countries to broaden their mutual cooperation in information technology and telecommunications areas.
Both Iran and Qatar have recently augmented efforts to further expand ties and cooperation in all the different political, economic, defense, security and cultural fields.
The two Persian Gulf littoral states recently signed several protocols to increase mutual cooperation.
