Matrouh Governor Alaa Fathi Abu Zeid and Indian Ambassador to Egypt Sanjay Bhattacharyya will inaugurate on Sunday a solar-powered lighting project in Agowein village in eastern Marsa Matrouh.
The Egyptian and Indian governments agreed on implementing the project under an Indian grant, Abu Zeid said in statements on Saturday.
Abu Zeid said that the Indian company in charge of lighting the remote village trained workers on maintaining and fixing solar energy systems, he said.
The governorate is keen on implementing the directives of the president to offer services to all citizens nationwide, he said.
