Samsung Electronics Co., the world's second-largest maker of mobile phones, released the Galaxy S2 smartphone in Brazil on Tuesday, aiming to outperform rivals in the world's fifth-largest mobile phone market. The company began sales of the Android-based smartphone in the South American country after launching events in major venues in Sao Paulo, an official at the company said. South Korea's short-term overseas debt stood at US$146.7 billion as of the end of March, up $11.7 billion from three months earlier, marking the sharpest quarterly growth since the third quarter of 2008, according to the nation's central bank.
