The Sharjah Municipality Monday launched its Facebook and Twitter accounts as a means to directly communicate with the public and listen to their concerns. "We decided to adopt the use of the social networking sites as a tool to get closer to the community, to promote the work of the municipality and to expand our contact with the public," said Sultan Abdullah Al Mualla, Director General of the municipality. Online Sharjah Municipality is available at facebook.com/shjmun and at twitter.com/shjmun. So far it has 156 friends on its facebook page and 272 twitter followers.
