H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, has issued an administrative resolution No. (3) of 2015, on setting up the Sharjah Centre for Space and Astronomy Sciences.
According to the article number one, the Centre will be part of the Sharjah Centre for Space Sciences and Astronomy at the University of Sharjah in the academic, technical, administrative and financial fields.
The article No. (2) states that the Centre will promote and spread awareness about the astronomy and space culture in the Arab world in general and Sharjah in particular. According to the article (3), the administrative, scientific, technical and financial staff of the centre will be appointed under the supervision and directives of the Chancellor of University.
Meanwhile, the article 4 of the resolution says Dh2 million will be allocated by the Emiri Court to the centre under the supervision and directives of the university.
The resolution will be effective from the date of issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
