Apple tops Samsung by smartphone sales amid Note 7 recall

The Galaxy Note 7 crisis cost Samsung Electronics Co. its lead in sales last quarter, according to Strategy Analytics. The researcher said Apple Inc. claimed the top spot by shipping 78 million phones. Revenue for the iPhone maker topped analyst projections last quarter.
