At last Motorola has got a taste for Gingerbread update UK locked Atrix handset to the already dated version 2.3 of Google's Android mobile OSMotorola has finally bowed to demand issuing a long overdue software update to its once formidable Android powerhouse the Motorola Atrix.With a number of manufacturers beginning to announce the devices they intend to bump up to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the coming weeks and months Motorola has confirmed that almost a year after it was first unveiled the Atrix is to make the jump from Android 2.2 FroYo to the already dated 2.3 Gingerbread.Available now as an over-the-air update for unlocked handset the Motorola Atrix UK Android 2.3 update has long been requested by the dual-core smartphone’s owners and will bring the dockable device in-line with handsets in the US and its recently released replacement the aptly named Motorola Atrix 2.Whilst SIM free Atrix owners can today get their mitts and peepers on the Gingerbread update, Atrix touters tethered to Orange or T-Mobile face a continued wait with the software overhaul to be rolled out fully over the next week.
