South Korea's LG Electronics says it will unveil an all-in-one desktop PC running Google's Chrome operating system at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show. The LG Chromebase, with a 21.5inch display, is a desktop unit designed to give users easy access to Google products like Gmail, Drive, Play and Google+ Hangouts, CNET reported Thursday. LG and Google are no strangers; the South Korea tech giant has already teamed up with the Mountain View, Calif. search giant to create Google's Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones. "LG's Chromebase is an exciting new form factor that expands the options available to customers who want a fast, simple and secure computing experience for the home, school or office," Google's vice president of product management for Chromebooks Caesar Sengupta said. Rumors of an LG computer running the Google OS began circulating in October when LG filed for trademarks on three names based on the word Chrome: ChromeOne, ChromeDesk and ChromeStation. It's unclear when Chromebase will hit the consumer market or how much it will cost, CNET reported.
