ADIB
Abu dhabi - WAM

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, ADIB, will be showcasing the diverse range of exciting career opportunities it offers UAE Nationals at Tawdheef 2017. The Abu Dhabi-based bank, which is a Platinum Sponsor of the 11th annual recruitment fair in Abu Dhabi, aims to use the platform to recruit more UAE nationals into the financial services sector.

Tawdheef, which is being held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 30th January to 1st February, is the UAE’s largest career event for UAE nationals. Last year, the event attracted 14,000 participants, including large numbers of fresh graduates from the UAE’s leading universities.

At last year’s event, ADIB interviewed over 1,000 candidates on the spot and had representatives from every business unit present to speak with potential candidates.

"Emiratisation continues to be one of ADIB’s priorities, and we are committed to creating unique employment opportunities for UAE nationals. As the UAE economy diversifies, it is important to bring more Emiratis into the financial sector, which is a key driver of economic growth," said Salama Al Meraikhi, the Head of Emiratisation at ADIB.

"ADIB has a robust training and career development programme in place for Emiratis, which gives our employees the knowledge and experience needed to succeed in the workplace and quickly progress into leadership positions."

ADIB has three distinct training programmes dedicated to supporting UAE nationals within the organisation. The Retail Banking Programme hires young Emiratis based on the bank’s anticipated needs, then enrolls them in a full time training programme to develop their skills and prepare them to take on rolls within the bank. Qiyadat is a leadership initiative designed to give ADIB Emirati staff first-hand management experience. Similarly, the Tamkeen Women’s programme is a leadership training programme dedicated to empowering ADIB’s female Emirati employees.

Currently, UAE nationals make up 42 percent of ADIB’s employees. The bank is also adopting a new points-based system approved by the UAE government to promote the entry of UAE nationals into the financial sector and promote career development.

ADIB has received numerous awards for its Emiratisation programs including the award for Best Nationalisation Initiative and Excellence in Talent Management from the MENA HR Awards, and the Human Resource Development Award from the Emirates Institute of Banking and Financial Studies.
