The company in charge of operating the oilfield in China's Bohai Bay has admitted that nine new oil spill sources have been found in the area. ConocoPhillips China said the origins are from its Penglai 19-3 oilfield in Platform C. China's State Oceanic Administration has asked the company to thoroughly investigate the cause of the oil spills, according to China''s (Xinhua) News Agency. ConocoPhillips China, a subsidiary of US energy giant ConocoPhillips, first reported spills to authorities in June. The oil spills have spread to beaches in Hebei and Liaoning provinces. The spills have been blamed for losses in the provinces' tourism and aquatic farming industries. (QNA)
