Petroleum Minister Tareq el Mulla received on Monday at his office British Ambassador to Egypt John Casson and UK trade envoy Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, who is currently visiting Egypt, to discuss available investment opportunities in Egypt.
During the meeting, they discussed joint cooperation in fields of petroleum industry and natural gas as well as means to boost ongoing cooperation as Britain is among major countries investing in the Egyptian petroleum and natural gas sectors.
Mulla said that the fruitful results achieved by British companies investing in the Petroleum sector in Egypt represent an incentive for bumping more investments in Egypt. The Egyptian-British relations in the petroleum industry have been established a long time ago.
Molla affirmed that petroleum sector is committed to providing a suitable investment climate for its partners.
During the meeting, they reviewed major gas projects carried out in Egypt with the participation of the British companies including the operation of gas fields in northern Alexandria and western the Mediterranean coast.
Sir Jeffrey Donaldson lauded the economic reforms implemented by the Egyptian government, saying that such reforms will play a significant role in changing Egypt's investment map.
Donaldson also commended projects carried out by the Egyptian petroleum sector within the framework of Egypt's national project to become a regional hub for energy trading.
He pointed out that the petroleum domain in Egypt is one of the main domains attracting British investments especially in the light of the positive outcome achieved recently that have encouraged more companies to invest in Egypt.
