Several masked saboteurs blew up an empty gas pipeline in Arish, Egypt's North Sinai on Friday morning, a local security source told Xinhua. The pipeline was under repair and there was no gas in it, the source said. The gas pipelines to Israel and Jordan have been bombed eight times since February, and gas supply to the two countries was repeatedly disrupted. The latest explosion was on Nov.10. On Nov.13, Egyptian authorities arrested the suspected mastermind and two other suspects for the explosions of gas pipelines in Arish. The man was identified as Mohamed Eid Al-Teihy, the leader of the Takfir wal-Hijra group. He was charged with being the leader of all the terrorist attacks in Sinai this year.
