Tehran - Fars

Iran is preparing to increase production in Reshadat oil field in the Persian Gulf by 10,000 b/d over the next few days.Fariborz Edraki, a manager of the project, told the Iranian oil ministry's website Shana that the current reconstruction and development of the field should lift output to 17,000 b/d, rising to 35,000 b/d by next March. By 2015, production should plateau at 70,000 b/d. Reshadat's oil is exported through a 105-km (65-mile) long, 16-inch (40.6-cm) pipeline to Lavan Island. The field, formerly named Rostam, was discovered in 1965. It was originally developed by Iranian-Italian company IMINICO, and came on stream in 1968.
